Mite madness

Pool Play games will be 15 minutes long, with the horn blowing for shift changes ever 90 seconds.

Seeding and Sunday games will be 3 12 minute periods with the horn blowing every 90 seconds to change lines.

Reds will play half ice with full size nets and goalies in full goalie gear. On the horn the team closest to the goal line will skate below the face off dot and the team closest to the red line skate around their net before playing the puck. On the horn the puck is not to be played by either team until they have tagged up.

Whites will play cross ice with intermediate size nets with goalies in full gear. On the horn teams will skate behind their net before engaging in the play.

Blues will play cross ice with mini nets. A player will stand in front of the net and can defend the net with their stick or skates. they are not to drop to the ice to save shots. (This is for player safety) If a goalie is dropping to make saves at the blue level, the team will get one warning and any time after that, a goal will be awarded to the shooting team. Teams will skate behind their net when changing. if the player that was in goal is moving up to forward, they must also lap the net before engaging in the play.

Scoring will be down in the press box by off ice officials. The score they record is final and will not be discussed.

Remember this is U8 hockey. The main goal of the weekend id for the kids to have fun. Verbal abuse to any on or off ice official will not be tolerated at any point and may result in expulsion from the tournament.
