Mite madness

White and Blue levels will play an 8-team bracket-style tournament.

All games will be 2 18-minute run time periods, with a horn every 90 seconds to signal a line change. Teams will change ends of the bench each period. This is in an attempt to make the distance needed to skate during line changes fair for the whole game.

Red will play a round robin style tournament for seeding on Saturday. Those games will be 2 12-minute periods. The 4th and 5th seed teams (based on points) will play each other at 10am Sunday for a chance to play for 3rd place. This play0in game will be 2 15-minute periods. The 3rd and 1st place games Sunday will be 2 18-minute halves.

Blues will play with mini nets, player may stand in front of the net, but can NOT drop to the ice to save a shot.

Whites will use intermediate nets and can have a player in goalie gear defending the net.

Reds will use full-size nets and have a player in full goalie gear defending the net.

Remember this is U8 hockey. The main goal of the weekend is for the kids to have fun. Verbal abuse to any on or off ice official will not be tolerated at any point and may result in expulsion from the tournament.
